A Practical Guide for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

November 27, 2013

The Practical Guide to a Rapid Start-up (Launch Your Business in 20 Proven Steps) is intended for use by first-time entrepreneurs as a practical step-by-step guide for rapidly launching a product in four months. This book is also for use as a basis for teaching programs, workshops, Startup Weekends, or college labs focused on the rapid launch of a product or service in a limited timeframe.  For facilitators, every program can be customized according to need, and this guide can be used in two ways:  adopted as the complete curriculum of the program or simply drawn from to help develop a customized program.  The group activities in this book take 40-60 hours to complete. There are up to 20 hours of research activities, that can be completed as homework.

The Practical Guide to a Rapid Start-up (Launch Your Businessin 20 Proven Steps) features a variety of stories about local start-up companies and entrepreneurs that have begun in Santa Barbara, California over the last few years.

One of the featured stories is about Santa Barbara City College graduates and FuelBox Founders Robert Herr and Dan Friedman. These 2 gentlemen were a critical part of the development of Santa Barbara City College’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) program which has since been renamed to The Enterprise Launch Program and is now a class for credit.

The goal of this program is to encourage students to start their own business or service and create ventures which will hopefully be profitable and create additional jobs both in Santa Barbara and on a national level.
